From the depths of old Mosul, where every stone bears the scars of war, stands Sara, tall and proud, a symbol of resilience and determination. Sarra returned with her husband and four children to their destroyed home, carrying with her the pains of the past and the dreams of the future. The war had turned her life into a nightmare, forcing her displacement to the Hammam al-Alil camp, leaving behind everything she knew. But Sarra did not surrender. After returning to her war-torn home, she decided not to succumb to despair. She received an opportunity to rebuild her house from an organization, and Sara began a new journey. …

Hiyam, a forty-year-old mother of seven, from Shirqat District faced harsh circumstances after finding herself alone in a world filled with challenges. Despite lacking any professional skills, her determination and perseverance allowed her to craft an extraordinary success story against all odds. Migration and a Tough Start Her journey began in 2018, when she was forced to flee Mosul to Syria with her young children. The journey was fraught with obstacles and ended with their arrival at Al-Hol Camp. With no work experience, she desperately needed a source of income to support her family. She started working alongside her eight-year-old son, selling vegetables in the camp for a trader. They received no wages but relied on leftover produce such as tomatoes, potatoes, and onions. This arrangement lasted for two years. Recalling those days, Hiyam said: "That small stall was my safety net—it was our only source of income to feed my children." …
