This theme is considered one of the Ashor core competences. After the recent conflict in Iraq, Ashor people find out that the violence extremism is one of the main reasons to escalate the conflict, so we started to work on mitigating and preventing these violence extremisms by deconstructing the violence narratives and analyzing the push and pull factors towards the extremism thoughts, actions. This prevention and mitigation can be done by understanding the context of each conflict and drawing a prevention strategy by using the education, media, and community engagement mechanisms, also the prevention including developing the capacities of the related governmental structure responsible for counter and prevent violence extremism.
During the last few years Ashor worked with different community segments to prevent the VE including conducting different kinds of social events and initiatives focusing on youth, women, community leaders and governmental entities.
